THE SHORT STORY

The AFROKIA brand is passionate about creating graphic design art and media that represent the African, Pan-African, Afro-Latin, and Afro-Caribbean communities in a positive light. Our inspirations are based on the Culture, Heritage, and Community of the African Diaspora.

 

THE AFRO KARIBBEAN ISLANDER APPAREL 

Inspired by the flags of the Caribbean Islands, the REP THE ISLAND collection demonstrates the pride and love for one's island in the Caribbean. Influences to Pan African are also blended into the collection. The Caribbean is a mixture of many cultures and people, which make it one of the most amazing places in the world.

Why spell Caribbean with a the letter K instead of the letter C?

In many African based languages the letter K is use for the "kah" sound. So we used the letter K instead of the letter C to add an African flavor to the spelling of the word KARIBBEAN.
